Hi there! My name is Jena Hassenzahl and I am so excited to be starting on my World Race Gap Year journey! In September of 2022, I will be leaving my home in Michigan and joining my squad on the Outreach Route where I will travel to Costa Rica, Romania, Eswatini, and South Africa.

I have gone on a couple of short-term mission trips but I never thought I would be called to serve the Lord in this way for a much longer term. However, as soon as I started looking into World Race, I felt a tug on my heart and knew it was where God is calling me to start the next chapter of my life after high school. 

But at the moment I am just living life at home and trying to enjoy every last experience of my senior year. I love photography, hanging out with friends, working out, thrifting, camping, fall, and Jesus of course! I am a part of my church youth group as well as my school’s bowling team, and I also play the drums which I absolutely love. 

I am so beyond excited to go on this trip and can not wait to see how God will move in and through me. I know that I will grow and be challenged in my faith but I also know that God has great things planned that will change my life as well as many other people’s lives. Thank you Lord for this opportunity and I can’t wait to use it for the glory of your kingdom!!
